MiRACleS Do HaPPEn ToDAy

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. - Isaiah 55:8 (KJV).

When I started DIVAS HAVING TEA, about 6 years ago I did not realize the impact that it would have on women not only here in my surrounding area but all over the world. The organization was founded by about 10 original women who came together on a monthly basis and with the help of the Holy Spirit lives were changed.

With that first group we saw families united, husbands saved and delivered from mental illness, drugs and alcohol. Men who would never go to church came when we started the ministry and testified to the fact that they knew that it was God who have lead their wife to DIVAS and that they had been changed as a result.

It is with this same humbleness that we go into the world to spread this same message. Lives can be changed by the power of Jesus Christ, miracles do happen today just as when Jesus walked the earth. The same message for me and you here in America is the same message for them as well. HE does change lives.

The Spirit of the Lord says;
My people have been in a critical time of high planning for the Kingdom. The enemy has spent a considerable amount of time attempting to steal from My children their gifts and callings. He has been using the undesirable circumstances, testings, and trials that you have endured, to distract you from the prize. I have warned and spoken times before, not to become distracted, for he has tried to sideline you and dry you out from the great anointing that will carry you through and bring you out. He is a thief and he wants to steal from you your identity, who I have made you to be. Just think how he has used multiple trials to distract you from a time of greater preparations to be able to possess your future destiny. Do not allow your overtaxed thoughts to make you leave the track that I have placed you on. This confused thinking causes you to feel overwhelmed which brings you to a place of wrong choices and others to a place of complacency.
Right now I Am saying to stir up your giftings and callings that I have placed within you. You will experience a freshness as I reinforce your assignments. Assignments have been abandoned, and I Am reviving within you a will to do them now. I have used this time to wisely cut and sever from your life many weights that held you down. Now you will rise and soar to the high places in Me, I have taken this time to streamline you to make your race easier to run. Now for the next six months you will encounter the grace of heaven kissing your life; My ability over and upon you inability. I will open the floodgates to flow into the dry and barren areas of your land and produce abundantly. As the rivers and springs open up, remember it is not so that you can lavish this only upon your desires, no, it is in preparation for the days ahead, and to keep the Kingdom established. Ask for wisdom as you begin to abound in blessings, it will be for the triune. Your spirit, soul, and body will be exposed to an alertness and a renewal for the Kingdom in a higher way. I will also pour like rain strategies so that you may know how to appropriate the blessing and keep them producing. Nothing will be stale! I Am Jehovah- Jireh, I see ahead and plan ahead, as I provide ahead. I have stored up water for those who have seen dryness, and I will nourish your land back to health and supersede your imagination. I have not forgotten one seed of love that you have sown in My name. This will be your pressed down, shaken together, and running over season. Be wise and understanding even as My servant Joseph was. Blessed even in the time of famine.

You Can't Have Christmas Without Jesus!

You can't have Christmas without Jesus! This is the heading on the posters advertising our Christmas Services. It sounds fairly straightforward, but to many it is simply something that would never cross their minds. The celebration exists to celebrate the birth or incarnation of God in human nature, but then again, for many, it is no more than an excuse to have a good time. Sadly, for them, when they have a 'bad time' in their lives they cannot understand why, and the comforting thought that Jesus became like us, in order to better understand our suffering, is simply not present in their thinking.

The Adoration of the Shepherds The Christmas story is not remote, some kind of myth - it is reality. A pregnant girl, married to a poor husband, gives birth to a baby miles away from home, in a borrowed room, supported by strangers, not their own family. Yet, all the time, 'God un-noticed is in the midst of the experience, drawing people together and sharing his love in their moments of fear and despair.

Many people despair of the commercialization of Christmas - all tinsel and turkeys! Personally, I do not. I am glad that the people don't miss this celebration, but I would ask one little thing, "Please don't leave Jesus out of Christmas!" Come and join us in celebrating His birth, understand what he does for you and for me, not just once a year but every day of the year, or you could miss out in good times as well as bad!

"For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it." Mark 8:35 (NIV)

Devotion:As I write this, it is fall and the leaves are changing in a glorious display of color. Each landscape looks like God Himself personally painted it—red, yellow, orange and green. I marvel as I drive, soaking in the visual display that is a feast for the eyes, thanking God for His creativity and care for even the smallest of details on this earth.

When my daughter asked me one day why the leaves change color, I scanned the recesses of my brain for this most basic of elementary science facts. But there was nothing there. I patted my daughter and assured her, yet again, that we would learn this answer together. (Sometimes my children wonder if I ever went to school and—if I did—how it is I managed to retain precious little.)

We read a book together and learned why the leaves change color. The leaves are slowly dying, their hold on the tree loosening a little more every day. The more they detach, the more a substance within them called chlorophyll dissipates. Chlorophyll is green in color, which causes the whole leaf to appear green. But when the chlorophyll is gone, other colors have a chance to surface. The red, gold, and orange colors were within the leaf all along—they were just overshadowed by the presence of the chlorophyll. It took the process of dying for their glorious color to be displayed.

We are in the process of dying every day, just like those leaves. When we choose to follow Christ, He asks us to take up our cross and follow Him, engaging in a daily process of giving up our rights, our pride, and ourselves in the name of service, giving and submitting. It is the painful work of death, yet in it we find colors we didn't know were there emerging. Once our sense of self and entitlement overshadowed us, coloring us an eternal—yet common—green. In the dying process, we find that God designed us to be more brilliant and colorful as we surrender our lives to Him.

People are drawn to this colorful display. They want to know how they too can break out of their same old green-colored lives and live with this kind of brilliance. In our humanness, we want to cling to the security of the tree - the security of money, or family, or our comfort zones and routines. But God asks us to let go, to trust Him, and to die a little more every day. We must trust the dying process and encourage others to do the same, displaying our colors so that people far from Him are drawn to Him, just as He intended.

Dear Lord, I don't want to live a me-colored life. Please show me how, through dying to self, Your brilliant colors can be displayed in me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Application Steps:

This fall, find a pretty colored leaf and press it between the pages of a heavy book. Then mount it on a page in your journal. Write down Mark 8:35 and some thoughts about how the dying process is making you a more "colorful" person. (If you don't live in an area where the leaves change color, then purchase some fall leaf stickers and decorate a page with them.)

Flow can be an illusive concept when things seem to be chugging along at a snail’s pace and challenges are around every corner. Fortunately, like most anything in our lives, flow can be manipulated depending on how open we are to making changes in our thoughts and behavior.

Think of a day when things seem to fall into place effortlessly and with very little pushing. Most would love to be in this constant state of bliss, but aren’t entirely sure how they created it in the first place. Perhaps these tips can help:

Determine Your State of Mind

If your thoughts create what transpires in your life then it’s important to always be aware of your state of mind. Not only can this change the course of a day that is heading in a negative direction, but it can allow you to recreate that feeling you get when things seem to be going along perfectly.

Follow Your Bliss

Most people don’t enjoy the career path they’ve chosen or the particular job they’re in. Unfortunately this tends to stop flow in it’s tracks, and can keep you in a constant state of subtle, or not so subtle, unhappiness. It may seem like a challenge at first, but follow your bliss. Of course if you weren’t already enjoy your life then you don’t have much to lose, do you?

Don’t Micro Manage the Universe

Often times being in the flow means allowing things to transpire in a way that we hadn’t imagined or anticipated. Therefore it’s important to recognize the difference between things going wrong and things just not happening as planned. In truth, God sees the bigger picture far better than we can with our conscious mind. So let it happen and let it go.

Feel Your Feelings

Just like with the Law of Attraction, being in a state of flow means being aware of your feelings. After all, attracting good doesn’t just mean thinking good thoughts, it means feeling what it would be like if your dreams and desires were actually reality.

Always Practice Gratitude

Even if you aren’t happy with where you are in your life at this moment, it’s important to recognize the things that you are grateful for. This puts you in the mindset of receiving good which in turn can give you the feeling of being in the flow.

It’s entirely possible to live your entire life in a state of flow, and luckily you are more than capable of making that happen.

How Believing In Yourself Can Bring You Closer to Your Dreams

Most people don’t have a clear vision of how they would like their life to be. They couldn’t tell you what their perfect job, home, and relationship would look like and feel like. It’s no surprise that these same people are not living the life of their dreams. So how do we create dreams worth turning into reality? Then, how can we stop dreaming and start living?

Unfortunately, the way in which we think about the things and situations we would like in our lives is not always fruitful. Answering these questions might be able to help you determine the type of energy of you’re expelling with your thoughts:

* When you think about what you would like to have in your life, do you feel a sense of lack?

If you are concentrating on what you don’t yet have then you will merely attract more lack into your life. It may feel strange at first, start to dream as if your dream is already a reality. It’ll put you in the perfect space to receive what it is you want.

* Do you tear down your own desires because they don’t seem logical to you?

The most outlandish visions create the most satisfying results, so why dream about something that wouldn’t even be all that exciting to achieve? Often times we can’t even see all of the ways that something can work out, so calling something illogical is merely creating an obstacle where there doesn’t need to be one.

* Are you confident in your ability to achieve what it is you desire?

If you don’t actually believe in your own ability to get what you want then you’ve already thrown in the towel. Before you are able to achieve any measure of success, acting as if you’re already there not only puts you in alignment with what you want, but it gives you an extra push to keep moving.

Often times we handle our dreams in a backwards fashion. We think so long and hard about the fact that we don’t already have what we want that we inadvertently push ourselves farther and farther away from what we desire. Operating instead from a place of faith and confidence that we can make any dream into a reality will actually serve as a magnet to bring those things closer.

Just because no one has been fortunate

enough to realize what a gold mine you are,

doesn't mean you shine any less.

Just because no one has been smart enough

to figure out that you can't be topped, doesn't

stop you from being the best.

Just because no one has come along to share

your life, doesn't mean that day isn't coming.

Just because no one has made the race

worth while, doesn't give you permission

to stop running.

Just because no one has realized how much

of a woman or man you are, doesn't mean they

can affect your femininity nor your masculinity.

Just because no one has come to take the

loneliness away, doesn't mean you have to

settle for lower quality.

Just because no one has shown up who

can love you on your level, doesn't mean

you have to sink to theirs.

Just because you deserve the very best

there is, doesn't mean that life is always fair.

Just because God is still preparing your king,

Dear Precious Sisters,

An opportunity has arisen for us to show our love and support of a precious sister currently awaiting execution in prison in Iran.

Sakine Mohammadi has been accused of adultery and sentenced to death by stoning. Her repeated appeals of this sentence have been rejected and she has exhausted all legal options to have her case re-heard.

Sakine has repeatedly stated her innocence, there are no witnesses to this reported 'crime' yet she has been tried and sentenced in a court in Iran led entirely by men. Sakine has already served 5 years in prison for this sentence, where, upon initial arrest, she was given 99 lashes in the presence of her then 17-year-old son.

She is due to be executed by stoning any day now. Her children have asked that the international community help intervene, despite the imminent risk this brings to themselves. Her only hope now is that though behind bars, her VOICE pleading for mercy will be heard.
Please join the campaign to stop this cruel form of punishment and try to bring justice for Sakine Mohammadi and her children!!

Be The One: Serve

In life, it's not what happens to you, but what happens in you and through you that counts. When adversity visits your life, you have two choices: to be a victim or to be a victor. Victims allow life circumstances to get them down, and they spend their lives asking others to redress the grievances life has dealt them. Victims are needy and demand to be served. Victors, on the other hand, rise above the challenges they encounter. They rebound from life's hardships with newfound strength, and they use their strength in service of those around them.

A Train of Tragedy

Juliette Magill Kinzie Gordon was born in 1860 to a wealthy family in Savannah, Georgia. Far from the typical Southern belle, Juliette was willful and tomboyish, always in search of adventure. She was the type of person never to be caught sitting still; she enjoyed trying new things and traveling new places.

In her mid-twenties, the first of a series of misfortunes struck Juliette. Suffering from chronic earaches, she sought medical care, but doctors mistreated her. As a consequence, Juliette lost the majority of her hearing in one ear. The following year, Juliette was married, but as she and the groom exited the ceremony a grain of rice, tossed by a well-wisher, lodged in her good ear. While attempting to remove the grain, a doctor punctured her eardrum, and Juliette lost hearing in her second ear.

For someone who enjoyed an active lifestyle, deafness could have been devastating, but Juliette persevered. She moved to her husband's estate in England where she became a favorite in social circles. Her humor and vivacity made her a sought-after guest and celebrated hostess.

However, Juliette soon crossed paths with tragedy again. Her husband's alcohol abuse and infidelity contributed to the gradual decline of their relationship, and in the middle of divorce proceedings, Juliette's husband died from a stroke. To make matters worse, he bequeathed his substantial estate to his mistress rather than giving it to Juliette.

Choosing to Get Up Rather Than Give Up

Having lost her hearing, her husband, and her home, you would have expected Juliette to feel bitter and victimized. However, at this very point in her life, she chose to serve. Somehow, she moved past her own tragic circumstances to see the good she could do for others.

Having befriended Sir Robin Baden-Powell, founder of the Boy Scouts, Juliette became intrigued by the Girl Guides, Britain's sister organization to the Boy Scouts. The Girl Guides program awakened passion in Juliette, reminding her of youthful adventures from days gone by. With the help of Sir Baden-Powell, Juliette returned to the United States with a notion to launch the Girl Scouts.

Over the next 15 years, Juliette devoted her life to pioneering the Girl Scouts of the USA. She founded its inaugural troop, authored its bylaws and handbooks, and solicited its startup funds. Thanks to her tireless recruiting and relentless campaigning, the Girl Scouts program blossomed. The organization was such a source of joy for Juliette that, when diagnosed with cancer, she hid the illness as long as possible in order to continue advancing the scouting movement. While she never had children of her own, by the time of her death Juliette had an "adopted family" of more than 160,000 girl scouts. Her legacy lives on today in the 3.4 million young ladies who belong to local Girl Scout troops in America.

Questions for Reflection

Where do you focus the majority of your time, on self or on service? When the hardships of life show up at your door, do you back down or rise to the challenge? On your journey through life, will you allow yourself to be victimized, or will you be the one who claims victory over adversity and serves others out of your strength?

Deep Grief

1 Corinthians 10:11-13

The past couple of weeks have been some of the toughest of my life. My emotions have spanned the spectrum: shock, sorrow, horror, intense anger, disillusionment, disappointment, and utter bewilderment. I have prayed---without much benefit. I have read the Scriptures from the Psalms and Proverbs to the words of Jesus and various sections of the letters from Paul, Peter, James---without much peace.

I feel like Job, who admitted, "If I speak, my pain is not lessened, And if I hold back, what has left me? . . . He has exhausted me. . . . My spirit is broken" (Job 16:6-7; 17:1).

It occurred to me around 4:20 this morning that perhaps the late, great Spurgeon might have understood my grief better than any other when he wrote over a century ago in his Lectures to My Students, in a chapter entitled "The Minister's Fainting Fits":

Who can bear the weight of souls without sometimes sinking to the dust? . . . To see the hopeful turn aside, the godly grow cold, professors [and pastors] abusing their privileges, and sinners waxing more bold in sin---are not these sights enough to crush us to the earth? . . .

The lesson of wisdom is, be not dismayed by soul-trouble. Count it no strange thing, but a part of ordinary ministerial experience. . . . Live by the day, by the hour. . . . Be not surprised when men fail you; it is a failing world. . . . Be content to be nothing, for that is what you are.

No longer should we be saying that "perilous times will come." They have arrived, fellow pilgrim; they are now. And we must face them head-on, doing whatever is necessary to stand firm.

As Carl Henry wrote so eloquently in Twilight of a Great Civilization:

We may even now live in the half generation before all hell breaks loose, and if its fury is contained we will be remembered, if we are remembered at all, as those who used their hands and hearts and minds and very bodies to plug the dikes against impending doom.

The secret of standing in treacherous times is being willing to "take heed" lest we also fall.

I felt lead to share this article that was sent to me with all of you. There are times when we just want to give up and let it all go, and when even the word of God just seems not to be enough to help us. But that is when we must remember that "WE DO WIN" hang in there.

As I progress in my spiritual walk with the Lord, I have noticed that the more Faith I aquire the more trials that come to stretch me more and more. I have often said that the Chrisitan Walk is a Process, I preach this to the men and women that God ws to come into my life to be blessed by him. The trials and the tribulations that these souls endure is Great and to know that Salvation is not just a one shot deal is often just what they need to learn.

I learned this the hard way. My trials at one time where soooooooooooooooo great that I just wanted to die and go be with Jesus. It just seemed impossible for me to see my way out to an end that was going to be good for me. Walking with the LOrd, and viewing it as a process was not taught to me, it was ALL THE WAY OR NOTHING AT

ALL, when I got saved. It was HEAVEN OR HELL, RIGHT OR WRONG. Don't get me wrong, we are to live our lives according to the word of God and to strive to be and do the right things and make the right decisions. But the reality of it all is that this is an impossible task for us to do alone. LIFE IS A PROCESS, Jesus knew this and that is why we have The Holy Spirit to HELP US to do the right thing, but we will make mistakes and we will do things that we really know that we should not do. The trick is to just KEEP GOING, repent and just KEEP GOING.

That is harder said than done, guilt is ALWAYS PRESENT, and the devil is always accusing us and showing us ALL OUR FAULTS, how we don't measure up to Gods standards.

The GREAT NEWS IS THIS, Life is a process and as with all processes it takes time to mature and grow. Just remember JESUS IS ALWAYS THERE, standing, waiting, forgiving and willing to help. So go and grow!!!

It is amazing how when we start out in life that we KNOW as children, exactly

what we want and where we want to be. And then as we grow older,people and circumstances crowd in on us and cause us to change our views of OUR LIFE and we began to make excuses for NOT DOING anything.

God has a ROAD FOR US to travel on and HE has a design for us to acheive our FULL POTENTIAL. Yet very few of us obtain it because, just like when we were children and began to grow older and to reason, we don’t BELIEVE THAT WE CAN, SO instead of saying we can, we only look back and regret NOT MAKING TO EFFORT TO ACHEIVE.

I am soooooooo happy that God never gives up on us to BELIEVE, AND ACHEIVE. Every dream that was given to us as children, somewhere in there was God’s design for your “prosperous life” that HE promised YOU.

DREAM AGAIN, BELIEVE AGAIN, TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS AGAIN. And remember “If God said it, HE will do IT” THROUGH YOU.

NAPW and The Urban League Successfully Kick Off the "Open Doorways" Program

The National Association of Professional Women recently kicked off the NAPW/Urban League of Essex County "Open Doorways" Program.

Eight of our professional women members have volunteered to become a mentor to a middle school girl who is part of the Urban League after-school program in Newark, NJ.

During the kick-off event, the volunteers were paired with their 12-14 year-old mentees, and instant connections were made! For an entire school semester, each NAPW mentor will be in contact with her Urban League mentee, either during their once-a-month meeting, or at least once a week by phone or email.

Darrin Sharif, Director of Operations of the Urban League Essex County, noted, "the greatest gift someone can give is their time." We are truly inspired by the eight, incredible NAPW women who are dedicating their time, with one even driving more than two hours to come to Newark to meet with the girls.

God Doesn't Ask a Fig Tree to Produce Bananas

Luke 13:1-9

A man borrowed a book from an acquaintance. As he read through it, he was intrigued to find parts of the book underlined with the letters YBH written in the margin. When he returned the book to the owner, he asked what the YBH meant. The owner replied that the underlined paragraphs were sections of the book that he basically agreed with. They gave him hints on how to improve himself and pointed out truths that he wished to incorporate into his life. However, the letters YBH stood for "Yes, but how?"

Those three letters could be writ large on the margins of ours souls: "I ought to know how to take better care of myself, but how?" "I know I ought to spend more time in scripture reading and prayer, but how?" "I know I ought to be more sensitive to others, more loving of my spouse, more understanding of the weaknesses of others, but how?" These are all good qualities and we know that, but how can we acquire them? As Christian people we know the kind of life we ought to live, and most of us have the best of intentions to do so, but how? We are afraid because we know where the road paved with only good intentions leads!

This morning we hear Jesus' parable of the fig tree, telling us to repent and bear good fruit. We know what the Christian life requires of us and yet, if we are honest with ourselves, we also know how far short we fall. So the question that confronts us this morning is: "Yes, but how?"

It's a dilemma that has confronted God's people throughout the ages. Even Saint Paul found himself trapped. In Romans 7 Paul writes: It seems to be a fact of life that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. I love to do God's will so far as my new (redeemed Christian) nature is concerned; but there is something else deep within me, in my lower nature, that is at war with my mind and wins the fight and makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. In my mind, I want to be God's willing servant, but instead I find myself enslaved to sin. So you see how it is; my new life (the redeemed life in Christ) tells me to do right, but the old nature that is still inside me (my sinful human self) loves to sin. Oh, what a terrible predicament I'm in! Who will free me from this slavery to sin? Thank God! It has already been done by Jesus Christ our Lord. He has set me free!

"Repent," Jesus says. "Acknowledge your sinfulness." That's the first step in beginning to live the Christian life. None of us is without fault. And yet how difficult it is for us to admit that. We know better than to openly admit our wrongs. If we want to get ahead in this world and be accepted by others, it's generally better to conceal our shortcomings and put on a good front for others.

Who goes into a job interview and declares, "I have to tell you. I have a habit of missing work, of criticizing my supervisors and others, and I enjoy listening to office gossip?" Who goes on a date and confesses to the other person, "Listen. I have to tell you I tend to be difficult to live with and I can be a real bore at times"?

However imperfect we may be, we've learned from life around us that it's better not to parade our imperfections out in public. As the little girl said to her classmate who had to sit in the corner, "To err is human, but to admit it is just plain stupid!"

How ironic it is then, that Jesus would tell us to repent. Instead of offering a word of support and understanding for our all-too-human tendency to cover up our wrongdoings, Jesus tells us to disclose the evil within us, to admit that we have failed. The apostle John tells us the same thing very clearly when he writes, "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us."

The Joy of The Lord is OUR Strength!!!!

There was a time in my life when I suffered from deep depression. Yes I was saved and believed that God was a healer but that did not change the fact that this was a trial that I had to go through and experience. There were many times when I wanted to just give up on life, but I always deep down in the recesses of my soul knew that God was somewhere although I could not feel his Love or Peace.
It was many years of struggle and forcing myself to do just the day to day activities that women do everyday. Depression has a way of robbing you of ALL THE JOY OF LIFE.
Well I did make it through, with the help of God and prayer and just plain standing on the word that God will heal and deliver. I am not going to tell you whether to take medicine or not that is between you and God, but just know that either way it is HE THAT DOES THE HEALING OF THE MIND. Be blessed,

"Exercise, if done correctly, is one of the most promising natural treatments for depression. It elevates mood quickly and reliably. It is believed that this takes place because exercise affects the same neurotransmitter system that medication does," says Dr. Shadick.

A recent review of all the available controlled trials that compared exercise with either no treatment or another type of established treatment in people diagnosed with depression conclude exercise does relieve symptoms of depression. But how effective and which type of exercise is best remain to be seen.

Many studies, going back to 1981, support the use of exercise as part of a treatment plan for mild to moderate depression. Most experts suggest about 30 to 60 minutes a day of moderate exercise to lift your mood.

Natural Treatments for Depression: Meditation and Yoga

"Meditation and yoga have been shown to decrease stress and anxiety, which can contribute to depression," says Shadick. Relaxation techniques such as yoga, deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, and meditation have all been used to relieve symptoms of depression and reduce stress. These mind-body techniques can promote feelings of joy and well-being.

Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn's meditation studies at the University of Massachusetts have shown that practicing meditation to lower stress can improve mood and relieve negative feelings of depression such as anxiety and anger. Using these same meditation practices, called mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, several studies have found that meditation can reduce the risk for a recurrence of major depression.

Natural Treatments for Depression: Dietary Supplements

Many people use herbs or dietary supplements as natural treatments for depression. It is important to remember that some of these supplements can have side effects or can interfere with other medications.

St. John's wort is an extract from a wild-growing shrub and has been used as an herbal medicine for hundreds of years. It is used in Europe to treat mild depression. In the United States, St. John's wort is a popular-selling product, but its effectiveness for depression is not proven. Some studies suggest it may help for minor depression, but it did not fare better than a placebo for major depression.

SAMe (S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine) is a synthetic supplement that is made from naturally occurring proteins in the body. It has been used to treat depression as well as osteoarthritis and liver disease. A review by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality found 47 studies in which SAMe was used for depression and concluded that SAMe worked better than a placebo.

Natural Treatments for Depression: Acupuncture

Acupuncture is increasingly being used as a natural treatment for depression. One area where acupuncture has been studied for depression is in depression associated with pregnancy. Because of potential side effects of drug treatment in women who are pregnant, acupuncture would be a valuable alternative.

In a study published in the Journal of Affective Disorders, 61 pregnant women with major depression were treated with acupuncture specifically tailored to treat depression, general acupuncture that didn’t target depression, or with massage therapy. The women who were treated with acupuncture specifically targeting depression had a response rate of 69 percent. In comparison, the response rates were lower for those who received general acupuncture (47 percent) or massage therapy (32 percent).

If you have depression, work with your doctor to find the best treatment. If you decide to try natural treatments for depression, let your doctor know. Remember, some of the most effective ways you can help your depression besides taking medication include eating well, getting enough sleep, avoiding stress, and having a good support system.

How Do You Love As God Commanded?

And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.' The second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' No other commandment is greater than these.

Whole Love

God commanded us to love. It would have been easier if God had just said, "Run a mile a day," or given us some other physical task. Then we wouldn't have to think about it. We would create a routine of basic action. But God speaks of love as an action that requires our whole selves.

Why must we love God? In the divine plan for those creatures called human, loving God is as essential as breathing is to our physical life. We must breathe. We can make ourselves unable to breathe, or we can refuse to breathe—but now without consequences. We must love God because the alternative, though possible, is unthinkable and unbearable. How tragic that many choose to give "lip service" rather than "lung service" to this basic law of spiritual life. Take a deep breath and ask yourself what specific opportunities you will have today to demonstrate your love for God.

WISE WAYS Think of some specific ways you could demonstrate your love for God in your neighborhood.

Today, Lord, teach me to love you with my whole being and share this love with others.

Love is the command of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The bible spoke of Love waxing cold in the last days. The world is looking for the true manifestation of the Sons of God. How will they know us? By OUR LOVE ONE TO ANOTHER!!!

Remember this Valentine season and reach out and give to someone who you would normally not give anything to. Pick a random stranger and give love. call a relative that you have not spoken to in years and give some love. Let us be reminded that Love does not require us to be worthy of it. LOVE JUST IS!!!

I will send my beloved son; it may be they will respect him.' 14) But when the tenants saw him, they said to themselves, `This is the heir; let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.' 15) And they cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16) He will come and destroy those tenants, and give the vineyard to others." When I was young my pastor would read this passage and preach on the vineyard and the people who where suppose to be tending the vineyard. I often wondered what made these men think that to kill the son whould give them the advantage and that in doing this the owner whould give them the inheritance? If you think about it, it really doesn't make sense in a logical way. But then again man has never been really in tune when it came to the things of the spirit.
One thing I did get from this message and others like it was that the heavenly father wants us to tell as many people as we can about the LOVE of JESUS CHRIST, and about HIS sacrafice. To take as many as we can to HEAVEN with us as we can. From this and other teachings of Jesus I came to LOVE DEEPLY the people of God and have made it a point to TELL.
The only thing YOU can take into heaven with you when you go is the people that came to KNOW JESUS CHRIST as a result of YOU.
Don't be like these men and kill HIM, tell about HIM, someone needs to hear!

Underneath...mountains of concert...where the cry's of the victims,

filter into the street. But I hear the plies, that can not reach...the

surface! You may not understand now, but there is a purpose...revealed

in all of this. For miracles do exist...that defy science and

logic...gloriously emerge from the darkness...giving praise and the

credit...to God. For answering prayer...keeping His promise to

not forsake His beloved there. Giving strenght and courage to not fear.

Keep in mind, the resurrection was real...and if ye be still...and know

that I am God! That Nothing for Me is to hard...for the power of the

Lord...to do...even extricate a chosen few. Like Jesus did for Lazarus

too...command the rescue crews...to roll back the rock for you! In and

out of graves...those who called out and prayed, in His name, expecting

the beloved to be saved. And they never lost lose hope...in the

scriptures they would quote:

"God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble

therefore we will not fear, through the earth should change, though the

mountains shake into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and

foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult", Psalms 46 1-3

Mascara can make or break a facial look. Choosing the right mascara is very important. There are two forms of mascara, waterproof and regular. There are many colors now depending on the look you want to create.
There are several mascara's I love to work with, DivaGlam's mascara and Loreal mascara. Following is a article that I found very informative and wanted to bring to you my readers.
Remember a little mascara can go along way, even with a very little makeup or no makeup at all, mascara can bring diffention to your face.

Mascara does not only add color to your eyelashes, but also volume. It lengthens and separates your eyelashes and can be water resistant. You need to choose depending on the effect intended. It's important to choose the right color, black, brown or blue nearly always being the most appropriate. But we must point out the existence of purple, violet and green mascaras as well.

It's important to apply mascara from the roots and from the lachrymal out in a zig-zag motion. This will give eyelashes more volume. Lower eyelashes are made up with short movements out from the root.

Water Proof

Waterproof mascaras are specially indicated for people who work in a humid environment and are also very useful for the summer months, when temperatures are higher and we perspire more, which can make eye makeup run. We can find them in brown, blue, green and violent.

Longer, more separated

Mascaras that add volume have small filaments that stick to the eyelashes lengthening them. Such mascaras also tend to be of medium consistency, allowing you to work the lashes until achieving the desired effect.

More volume

Mascaras that add volume are usually thick and dry quickly, which means you'll have to work them very quickly to achieve a fake eyelash effect.

Trends and scientific advance in cosmetics have produced a revolution in brushes for this season. Several brands have let out a silicone brush that keeps products from going lumpy. Everlong by Yves Saint Laurent is a good example.

Eyeliner, though not as popular now as in the past, is still fashionable. Remember to apply it from the lachrymal out, making the line finer at the start and thicker at the end. Yves Saint Laurent has let out its Automatic Eyeliner, which creates an extra slim line that is high precision as well as waterproof. This revolutionary product not only solves problems, but is also easy to carry.

I hope my advice has been useful when choosing the mascara which best adapts to your needs. As for eyeliner, when choosing you should think about the color and the thickness of the line. Generally, the thinner the better, as it will be easier to apply.

If, over and over again, you find yourself wishing you had said or done something, you may need some assertiveness training.

Your friends, family, or even your co-workers may tell you that you need to be more assertive, stand up for yourself. But how do you go about developing assertiveness?

Assertiveness Defined

“What we use in some of our courses is this definition: Assertiveness is a behavioral style of communication in which a person expresses her thoughts, feelings, wants, and needs in a clear, direct, and honest manner while respecting the rights and needs of others,” says Susan Zeidman, who oversees assertiveness training for the American Management Association, based in New York City.

“Basically, it’s saying what you need to say respectfully,” she explains, adding that this can be difficult for some people who get emotional. "People who avoid confrontation are more passive in their approach to things — hoping the problem will go away or that they won’t have to say something.”

Assertiveness is an important skill when you are trying to build relationships, negotiate tasks and responsibilities, or work together with other people in a variety of settings. Assertiveness, once you get the hang of it, can:

Help you communicate better Give you confidence Help you make decisions Increase other people’s respect for you Help you stay true to your beliefs and goals. .

Do You Need to Be More Assertive?

Zeidman says that if you are dissatisfied with the personal and professional outcomes in your life, you may need to be more assertive.

“If you’re walking away from too many interactions and conversations saying, 'I shoulda said this,' 'Why did I let that get away from me,' 'Another meeting where so-and-so stole my idea,' or 'I got dumped on again,' frequently it has to do with communication,” says Zeidman. “The ability to say no and be respected is tremendous.”

Tips for Being Assertive

If you want to take a trial run at assertiveness, try these tips the next time you are in a situation where you need to be honest about your feelings or needs:

Know what outcome you want to achieve Pick a moment when you are emotionally in control Practice what you want to say Sit or stand comfortably where you can look directly at the person to whom you are speaking Use statements beginning with “I” to explain your feelings about the situation. For example, instead of saying, “You never check with me before making plans” say “I feel ignored when you make plans without consulting me first.” Be direct and honest about your feelings, goals, and intentions Say no to unreasonable demands and offer an explanation if it is appropriate. There is no need to apologize or offer excuses. Zeidman recommends an approach that focuses on stating the impact of another person's behaviors.

“If you’re always aware of what is the impact of this situation on us, me, you, the organization, the family, then people start to see you and the communication quite differently,” she says. Sit down with the person in question and then give them an example of the behavior that is problematic for you, and then describe the impact on you. “After you [explain] the impact of what’s happening, you ask them to make a change with you. How can we change this? How can we make this better?” suggests Zeidman. This approach makes the people in your life partners in improving the situation.

Assertiveness won’t guarantee that you get everything you want every time. But you will feel more in control and less stressed over the situations that used to cause you problems.

Health Reform

Early this morning, the Senate made history and health reform gcleared its most important hurdle yet -- garnering the 60 votes needed to move toward a final vote in that chamber later this week.

This marks the first time in our nation's history that comprehensive health reform has come to this point. And it appears that the American people will soon realize the genuine reform that offers security to those who have health insurance and affordable options to those who do not.

I'm grateful to Senator Harry Reid and every senator who's been working around the clock to make this happen. And I'm grateful to you, and every member of the Organizing for America community, for all the work you have done to make this progress possible.

After a nearly century-long struggle, we are now on the cusp of making health insurance reform a reality in the United States of America.

As with any legislation, compromise is part of the process. But I'm pleased that recently added provisions have made this landmark bill even stronger. Between the time when the bill passes and the time when the insurance exchanges get up and running, insurance companies that try to jack up their rates do so at their own peril. Those who hike their prices may be barred from selling plans on the exchanges.

And while insurance companies will be prevented from denying coverage on the basis of pre-existing conditions once the exchanges are open, in the meantime there will be a high-risk pool where people with pre-existing conditions can purchase affordable coverage.

A recent amendment has made these protections even stronger. Insurance companies will now be prohibited from denying coverage to children immediately after this bill passes. There's also explicit language in this bill that will protect a patient's choice of doctor. And small businesses will get additional assistance as well.

These protections are in addition to the ones we've been talking about for some time. No longer will insurance companies be able to drop your coverage if you become sick and no longer will you have to pay unlimited amounts out of your own pocket for treatments that you need.

Under this bill families will save on their premiums; businesses that would see their costs rise if we don't act will save money now and in the future. This bill will strengthen Medicare and extend the life of the program. Because it's paid for and gets rid of waste and inefficiency in our health care system, this will be the largest deficit reduction plan in over a decade.

Finally, this reform will extend coverage to more than 30 million Americans who don't have it.

These are not small changes. These are big changes. They're fundamental reforms. They will save money. They will save lives.

And your passion, your work, your organizing helped make all of this possible. Now it's time to finish the job.

I wanted to share with you this e-mail as proof that one persons voice does make a difference, and that your voice does count.
When I was young my Grandfather would tell me to vote when I was of age, but I always felt that it did not matter what I said or did, that people were going to do what they wanted regardless.

As I read the Word of God it told me to pray for the people in charge
of the world I live in so that I can live at peace.

It was not until recently, that I realized that if I don't say something then the Devil will just run the country and that if I allow that I am letting him take over. Just like if we just sit back and don't say a word and laws get passed we just complain, but did you vote for or against it, and if you did not then what else can you expect. In fact you got just what you expected, nothing.
So as we enter into the End of Age, let us remember that we can pray and make a difference and we can vote and make a difference it does count.

Dear Mrs. Rabot:

Thank you for writing to me to express your support for healthcare reform. I appreciate the time you took to write to me, and I welcome this opportunity to convey my opinions on how we should reform our health care system.

I am pleased that you support healthcare reform, as do I. The key is to find a healthcare plan that provides coverage, as well as limits cost. My colleagues in the Senate and I have been working on this, but it is a difficult issue and must be carefully thought out. On November 21, 2009, I voted in support of the motion to proceed to debate on the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act." It is my hope that over the next few weeks, the Senate can find common ground to pass meaningful healthcare legislation.

Important measures in the bill that would immediately take effect include the prohibition of coverage denial based on preexisting conditions and the elimination of lifetime and unreasonable annual limits on benefits. Reducing healthcare premium costs is absolutely essential. Between 2000 and 2007, combined profits for 10 of the country's largest publically traded insurance companies rose 428 percent. I am planning to offer an amendment that would create a Medicare Insurance Rate Authority to block inappropriate health insurance increases. The Medical Insurance Rate Authority would review the justifications for premium increases that insurance companies are already required to submit under the bill. The amendment would also require states to adopt state laws on insurance rate reviews that require insurance companies to provide notification of rate increase, and to give an appropriate state authority the ability to block a premium increase that is not justified.

I am also concerned about the rapid growth of entitlement spending, which makes up 56 percent of all federal dollars spent in 2009. Health reform must also slow the growth of entitlements in order to reduce our nation's debt and budget deficit. Any Senate health reform bill must improve California's complex health care system, and please know that I am working hard with my colleagues to make health care affordable for all Americans, without adding to the federal deficit.

As I began to think about the past year and reflect on the things that I have gone though and or the things that others have gone though. I have to reflect on the Word of God and what HE said about these days in which we are now living.

We are in the LASt Days, in case you don't realize what is happening let me enlighten you. The bible is VERY clear stating the events that were to take place in the end of days and what the world at large would be like. I see this everyday and everyday when I read a headline I am just revisiting the scripture.

For me and for you if you are a believer this is a time when God wants us to Lift up our Heads and rejoice, because our redemption is nigh.

I mention this because some people don't remember this part of the scripture when they refer to the End of Things, all they want to concentrate on is the Bad, but there is some good. Good for me and for you, because even though the ENd is near, so is The beginning for us.

So for the coming Year, I say LIVE! Do ALL the things that you have planned to do and don't QUIT. God said for us to occupy until HE cOMES.

Tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day, Americans across the country will sit down together, count our blessings, and give thanks for our families and our loved ones.

American families reflect the diversity of this great nation. No two are exactly alike, but there is a common thread they each share.

Our families are bound together through times of joy and times of grief. They shape us, support us, instill the values that guide us as individuals, and make possible all that we achieve.

So tomorrow, I'll be giving thanks for my family -- for all the wisdom, support, and love they have brought into my life.

But tomorrow is also a day to remember those who cannot sit down to break bread with those they love.

The soldier overseas holding down a lonely post and missing his kids. The sailor who left her home to serve a higher calling. The folks who must spend tomorrow apart from their families to work a second job, so they can keep food on the table or send a child to school.

We are grateful beyond words for the service and hard work of so many Americans who make our country great through their sacrifice. And this year, we know that far too many face a daily struggle that puts the comfort and security we all deserve painfully out of reach.

So when we gather tomorrow, let us also use the occasion to renew our commitment to building a more peaceful and prosperous future that every American family can enjoy.

It seems like a lifetime ago that a crowd met on a frigid February morning in Springfield, Illinois to set out on an improbable course to change our nation.

In the years since, Michelle and I have been blessed with the support and friendship of the millions of Americans who have come together to form this ongoing movement for change.

You have been there through victories and setbacks. You have given of yourselves beyond measure. You have enabled all that we have accomplished -- and you have had the courage to dream yet bigger dreams for what we can still achieve.

So in this season of thanks giving, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to you, and my anticipation of the brighter future we are creating together.

Welcome to D.I.V.A.S by DESIGN BLOG. I am Dr. MeChelle and I am glad that you have come to our blog. I felt the need to write this blog because after many years of counseling women, in and out of Church, saved and unsaved, I realized that many women are lost and having trouble dealing with issues.

For years we were taught that when we got saved that God would take care of all the past problems that we had and that it was all going to be alright. So we just learned to pretend that the past never happened and that all the things that we went through was not important. When in fact it is important, it does come up and then we react in ways that we really don't want to. I believe that God does heal and that he does deliver and sets us free, but we do need help sometime. We need to talk things through and sort things out with someone who can pray with us and help us to heal.

That is where I come in. I always had a passion for Psychology, but always felt that it would be in conflict with my Christian Beliefs. I realized that it was God who placed the desire in me in the first place.

That is where Divas having Tea, D.I.V.A.S by DESIGN Conferences, and this Blog comes in. God using me to be a blessing to HIS PEOPLE. Helping YOU to move on and have the BRIGHT FUTURE that HE PLANNED for your life.

I hope that as the weeks and months go on that something in this blog helps you and blesses you, feel free send me any e-mails that you want to regarding an issue that you are still struggling with.
